Canticum's first subscription concert is on Good Friday at 6pm in St John's Cathedral, Ann St, Brisbane.
In German will be "Warum hast du mich verlassen?" by Mendelssohn, "Herr auf dich traue ich" by Nicolai (19th century composer, as was Mendelssohn) and "Komm süßer Tod" by Nystedt (a contemporary Norwegian composer).
In Latin will be Nystedt's "O Crux" and "Lamentationes Ieremiae Prophetae" by Alonso Lobo, a Spanish Renaissance composer.

For those lovers of choral music who are not in Brisbane, Canticum's performance last night of Bach's Johannispassion with the Queensland Orchestra will be broadcast on Good Friday evening at 8pm on ABC Classic FM, either 106.1FM on the radio, or
http://www.abc.net.au/classic/audio/ for online listening. Ignore the dreadful coughing by some audience members and concentrate on the dramatic interpretation of this choral masterpiece.
